Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, always made time for those in need. Not only did He teach and nurture them in the faith, but He also listened to and cared for them.
Furthermore, in the Acts of the Apostles, we see where large numbers of souls were added to the body of Christ when the apostles used their spiritual gifts to teach and welcome others into the Christian faith. Such Scriptures can be found in Acts 2:41, where 3,000 people were added to the church on the day of Pentecost. Also, Acts 4:4 mentions approximately 5,000 men, and Acts 5:14 states that “multitudes” of both men and women were added to the family of Christ.
At Greater Middle Baptist Church, we want to apply the same first-century church rules and values to the twenty-first century. We aim to teach and nurture new converts, ushering them into a new life in Christ with care and intentionality.
The purpose of the New Membership Committee is to assist the Pastor with “taking in” individuals who want to become members of Greater Middle Baptist Church.
Committee members also spotlight new members of the church and make them aware of the “rights and privileges” of all members.
