The Apostle John wrote in 3 John 1:2 the following Holy Spirit-inspired words to bless a fellow believer’s health. He said, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
This greeting is far deeper than a typical salutation. It is speaking a blessing over the wellness of one’s mind, body, and spirit / soul. These words encompass a holistic view of health, which simply means the “whole” person.
At Greater Middle Baptist Church, we care about the holistic health and wellness of our members, visitors, families, and friends. This is why the role of the GMBC Health Ministry is essential to the basic functioning of each individual. Blood pressure checks and other routine health checks are vital to ensuring that GMBC members are equipped to serve others by prioritizing their own health and wellness.
The Health Ministry of Greater Middle Baptist continuously reminds members to stay current on their health checkups and also provides accurate information to support their nutritional needs. While this advice is not intended to replace patients’ appointments, doctors’ recommendations or other medical advice, it is useful in creating an environment of health consciousness and garnering community support around one’s long-term vigor, stamina, and vitality.
We believe that everyone plays a role in the GMBC Health Ministry, whether as an active member of this auxiliary or simply as an individual making better health decisions. All are welcome to participate in some substantive way!
