Our desire is for every member of Greater Middle Baptist Church to feel valued and appreciated. In addition to acknowledging and celebrating members’ birthdays, we also encourage camaraderie through joint service projects performed by members who are born in the same month.
Birthday Clubs were organized by the late Deacon Homer Mitchell to foster full-member participation in extending church activities.
Upon joining Greater Middle Baptist Church, new members undergo New Member Orientation and, after doing so, will be automatically added to their respective Birthday Club. They are then welcomed to participate and work on their first passion project, alongside their other Birthday Club members.
Birthday Clubs may participate in any of the following GMBC Outreach Ministries:
- Adopt-A-School: Evans Elementary
- Tutorial Enrichment Center
– Math, Reading, Writing, Spelling
– College and/or Career Days
– Charm Clinic - Church Nursery: Operated by the young women of GMBC
- Food Pantry
- Thanksgiving Baskets
Members may also help to plan Annual Programs, like the ones listed below.
- Seasonal Tea / Family Day
- Ladies in Hats
- National Day of Prayer
